Paddy Bourke

Paddy Bourke Pottery

Paddy Bourke is an artisan potter who lives in Auckland. His creative
journey is a testament to his passion for pottery, where he combines
traditional craftsmanship with his reflective appreciation for the natural
wonders of New Zealand's wildlife, native bush and landscapes.
His trademark lies in his hand-carved low base relief pottery. With an eye for detail, he brings to life the essence of New Zealand's rich biodiversity through intricate depictions of native wildlife and landscapes.

Paddy’s creative process is a blend of artistry and technical expertise. He meticulously crafts his pieces using stoneware clay, carefully shaping each form by hand. With diverse glazing techniques, Paddy showcases his mastery by using metallic glazes, ceramic stains, and crackle glazes.  Paddy creates original art pieces that become the cornerstone of his craft.

He takes moulds from these unique creations, enabling him to produce a diverse array of pieces while preserving the authenticity and intricacy of his original designs. Paddy’s artistry is a harmonious fusion of craftsmanship, reverence for nature, and innovative techniques.
